Match officials
Our easy-to-use system allows referee/umpire co-ordinators to manage a team of officials, confirming they will be at their matches.
Our Match Official Organiser feature is aimed at organisations that appoint referees, umpires and other match officials on a week-to-week basis. It is aimed at both:
- Leagues, referee/umpire associations and governing bodies who appoint to different league and cup competitions
- Sports clubs who appoint from a team of referees/umpires within the club, to fixtures that its teams play in
The focus of the Match Official Organiser feature is on:
- appointing match officials to a fixture, and confirming their availability
- managing mileage claims
The system does not currently extend into the rating of officials by teams, or vice versa.
Loading up your officials
You load up a ‘club’ of match officials by using our free Club Administrator feature – this allows you to manage their memberships, and communicate with them by email, along with many other powerful features.
If your organisation is a sports club, your officials will simply be included within the members of your club.
For each official you can assign their qualifications – and this allows one person to have multiple roles/qualifications e.g. they can be on the system as a qualified referee and as a trainee timekeeper at the same time.
Once you load someone’s qualifications into the system, they are given a Match Official account on our system – this means that they can log in to set their unavailability, give their availability for future appointments, and view everyone’s appointments, past and future.
Taking control of competitions
If you are a league, referee/umpire association or governing body that appoints officials to specific competitions for a whole season, you can take full or partial control of these competitions. The competitions have to exist on the FixturesLive system first for you to be able to do this. If you take full control of a competition, other Match Official Organisers are barred from making appointments.
If you are a sports club, fixtures to which you may appoint will appear automatically, so you don’t need to take control of competitions.
Appointing your officials
It’s a very simple matter to choose your officials for a fixture. Once you have selecting them for a given match day, you can then email them all in one go, asking them to confirm individually (at the click of a button) whether they are available or not. They will see all the appointments you have made for each match day. When they give their availability, the system is updated, and you will receive an email updating the situation.
Fixture changes
It’s obviously extremely important that your officials know if there has been change to the date, time or venue of a fixture – and our system handles this automatically.
Providing your officials have email addresses in the system they will be sent a ‘fixture change alert’ for any fixture they are appointed to, where the details change.
Public pages
All appointments are shown clearly on FixturesLive pages – a whistle icon appears on a team page next to a fixture, and by clicking on this everyone can see who has been appointed, and whether they are confirmed or not.
The public pages also show all the appointments for your organisation/club, and for each match official.
Mileage claims
The system has a straightforward feature (which you can turn on or off) which allows your officials to submit multiple mileage claims in one go, and you can adjust the total they claim, and record whether each claim approved or not.
