Women's Summer League

A record number of teams entered the Ladies Summer league this summer. 15 teams entered the competition which was run in group stage format, with teams progressing to the semi finals and then the final. The semi finals were between Rover A and West Witney, with the other between Wallingford and Rover Development. Both matches featured several young players showing promising talent, but it was the two Rover sides who progressed to the final, where the experience of Rover A came through as they won 4-3. Every single game in the tournament (about 50 matches) had umpires appointed by Andy Gwinn, who along with other umpire coaches and mentors, used it for umpire training. A huge thank you goes to Andy for his organisation there as it makes life so much easier for the captains.

Again a record number of teams entered the Mixed league this summer, otherwise known as the Gladiators Cup. The tournament was run in the same format at the Ladies Summer league, with one semi final between Gladiators and Mighty Maximus, and the other being Oxford Hawks vs Witney. Gladiators and Hawks progressed to the final, where Hawks, despite already defeating Gladiators in the group stages, could not quite manage it again as Gladiators won 4-1.
